In West Bengal, the Congress, has decided to contest the ensuing Panchayat Elections on its own. After the party’s extended executive committee meeting, the Pradesh Congress President Pradip Bhattacharjee announced this in Kolkata today. He said that, the decision will not affect the relations with its ally the ruling Trinamool Congress in the State.Earlier the Trinamool Congress also announced to fight the Panchayat Elections alone. The Party Chief and State Chief Minister Miss Mamata Bannerjee hinted holding of Panchayet Elections in the state after Durga Puja festival.
