Congress to bring FDI in HP if voted to power: Ananad Sharma

Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma has said Congress will bring FDI in Himachal Pradesh for the benefit of fruit growers, farmers and consumers if voted to power. Addressing a press conference at Shimla on Saturday, he said FDI will also help in encouraging investment and generating employment opportunities. He said, the 35 to 40 per cent of post harvest losses of food commodities specially fruits and vegetables can be saved by creating required integrated infrastructure to have modern technologies for grading, sorting , food processing and cold storage.He said that the BJP Governments in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat were in favour of the FDI earlier but later on changed their stance and opposed it because of the stand taken by the BJP high Command. He said during the past five years, the central government has given to the state 17 thousand crore rupees through various central sponsored programmes .
