In Punjab, main opposition Congress on Wednesday announced boycott of the ongoing budget debate in the state Assembly. It alleged that the figures presented in the budget are not based on reality and they described budget as a bundle of lies. As the general discussion on the budget estimates for year 2011-12 commenced, Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh read out an eight-page speech.He told the House that the Congress members will boycott the debate on budget and all congress members left the house. Opposition leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and captain Amrinder Singh later told reporters that their party MLA’s would participate in other proceedings of Vidhan Sabha except debate on Budget.Meanwhile, refuting the charges of opposition, the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal told reporters that opposition has accepted its defeat without going for discussion.
