Congress today termed the general budget as a damp squib. Briefing media in New Delhi this evening, former Finance Minister P Chidambaram expressed disappointment that the government did not use the opportunity to push through bold reforms, revive aggregate demand and growth. <br/><br/>The party leader said government has retreated from reforms thereby cheating the farmers, manual labourers, self employed, artisans and micro, small and medium business persons. <br/><br/>Saying that NDA promised to create two crore jobs every year, Mr Chidambaram claimed that there is nothing in the budget that points to a change of strategy to create new jobs.
