Congress suspends former-Kerala Minister Mustafa for anti-Rahul remark

In Kerala, senior Congress leader and former Minister,T H Mustafa, was suspended from the party, for allegedly making adverse remarks against Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, for the party's setback in the Parliamentary elections. The decision was announced last night by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, KPCC President V M Sudheeran, after a meeting of the KPCC executive held in Thiruvananthapuram to review poll performance.

Sudheeran said the statement of Mustafa, crossed all limits. He said it is not fair to blame one or two persons for the poll debacle, when the party leadership has already owned up all responsibility. Reacting to the suspension, Mustafa said he was not given an opportunity to explain his position. KPCC also appointed two committees to probe the defeat suffered by the party, in five constituencies of Kerala, that is Idukki,Thrissur, Palakkad, Chalakkudy and Alathur.
