Congress supports inquiry into Walmart lobbying issue

The Congress today urged the opposition to allow Parliament to function. Party spokesman Rashid Alvi said in New Delhi today that those who are entrusted with law making are themselves violating the law. He said the Congress Party is also very keen for an inquiry into the allegations against the retail giant Wallmart. But the mode of inquiry has to be decided by the Government. Mr. Alvi said the allegations against the multinational company have been levelled abroad and not in India. Yet the Congress party supports the proposed inquiry against it. His party wants a consensus with the opposition, Mr. Alvi said.
