Congress stands with Rahul Gandhi on RSS defamation case; BJP describes him confused

BJP has described Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi as confused after he told Supreme Court that he stood by his remarks against the RSS. Party spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said in New Delhi today that earlier also, Mr. Gandhi had made u- turn over his remarks and he would seek apology in the future. <br/><br/>Replying to a media query he said RSS is a nationalist organization and it does not need any certificate from the Congress and Mr. Gandhi. Some Congress leaders had also made comments against the RSS in the past which were rejected by the people. Mr. Hussain added the kind of remarks Mr. Gandhi is making will backfire the Congress. <br/><br/>Another party leader Shrikant Sharma alleged that the Congress Vice President is making such comments for vote bank politics. He said former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had included Sangh delegation in 26th January parade in 1962 and questioned whether by making such remarks Rahul Gandhi disagrees with Nehru. <br/><br/>While, Congress said it stands by Rahul Gandhi statement related to RSS. Talking to media, party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said, Mr Gandhi will stand by his remarks on RSS in future also. He said, the party will continue to fight for what he called the divisive agenda of the organization. <br/><br/>Mr Surjewala criticised the BJP for taking on Mr Gandhi over his stand on RSS. Another Party leader Kapil Sibal said there is no U turn by Mr Gandhi in the entire case. <br/><br/>At a rally in Maharashtra last year, Mr. Gandhi made a statement against RSS for the killing of Mahatma Gandhi. Few days back, Mr Gandhi had told the court that he did not blame the RSS but people associated with it for killing. But today he said he stood by every word of his statement.
