Congress rules out forming alternative govt. in Jharkhand

The Jharkhand Governor has send a report to the Centre on the political situation in the state. Union Cabinet likely to meet on Tueday to discuss it. <br/><br/>Earlier in the day the state governor MO H Farooq held discussions with the major political formations in the state on the government formation following resingnation by the chief minister Shibu Soren on Sunday , a day ahead of the scheduled trial of strength.<br/><br/>The crises triggered in the state after Shibu Soren voted against the Cut motion in the Lok Sabha moved by BJP its colation partner in the state .<br/><br/>BJP having 18 members in the 82 member house has sought a day's time for its view on the prospects of government formation. Congress having 14 members has said it did not have the numbers to form the government . Congress has ruled out forming an alternative government in Jharkhand saying it does not have the sufficient numbers. <br/><br/>AICC General Secretary incharge of Jharkhand K Keshav Rao told reporters in New Delhi today, his party wanted a stable and honest government in the state and did not find itself in a position<br/><br/>to form a government right now. To a question on whether Congress has had consultations with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on the issue, he said, JMM leaders had spoken to the party but the party has decided to abstain from forming the government.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Home Minister P Chidambaram met Congress President Sonia Gandhi against the backdrop of the political uncertainty in the state which appears headed for another round of President's Rule.<br/><br/>BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said in New Delhi that the party is watching the situation specially the happenings in Congress Camp.
