In Bihar, Congress, NCP and the RJD led by Lalu Prasad Yadav finally sealed a seat sharing alliance for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Addressing a joint press conference in Patna Bihar Congress committee president Ashok Chaudhary and RJD chief Laloo Prasad Yadav said that Congress will contest on 12 seats, one for NCP and RJD will field candidates in 27 other seats out of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar. Congress state president also said that the coalition was formed to prevent the communal forces. The National Congress Party, NCP led by Sharad Pawar will contest on one seat in the state. Announcing the decision on seat sharing RJD Chief Lalu Prasad said that Congress will contest on Sasaram(SC), Kishanganj, Aurangawad, Supaul, Hajipur, Purnia, Patna Sahib, Nalanda, Samastipur, Valmikinagar, Gopalganj and Muzaffarpur and the NCP candidate fight from Katihar.
