In Manipur, Congress has retained the Imphal Municipal Council (IMC) by getting absolute majority in the election of the urban local body. However, Chairperson of the Congress ruled Municipal Council R K Ranisana Devi has lost the election at the hand of an independent candidate. Congress has got 14 out 27 seats while BJP, CPI and All India Trinamool Congress have won one seat each, NCP got two seats and eight seats have gone to independent.
