The Congress today said it is ready for a debate in Parliament on the 2G Spectrum and other alleged scams. Party spokesman Manish Tiwari said it should include the functioning of the Telecom Ministers during the NDA regime as well. On the demand for JPC, Tiwari wondered what value addition will this probe as these issues are already ben investigated by difference agencies including the CBI. He said the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is the appropriate forum to examine the issue and come out with its conclusion. On Supreme Court observations, Tiwari said that the issue is sub-judice and as directed by the apex court, the government will file an affidavit.Replying to questions on the stalemate in Parliament, the Congress spokesman said that it is the collective responsibility of all the parties to find a way out for its smooth running. The CPIM and the BJP have said that the Prime Minister should clear the air in the backdrop of Supreme Court's observations on the 2G Spectrum issue. The BJP spokesman Prakash Javdekar told reporters outside Parliament, also reiterated the demand for a JPC probe. Sitaram Yechuri of the CPIM said that he had written three letters to the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh between 2008 and 2010 on the alleged irregularities in the 2G Spectrum allocations but except for acknowledgements there was no assurance.
