Congress today protested against deaths of West Bengal tea garden workers. Speaking at Jantar Mantar in the national capital, party Vice-President Rahul Gandhi said it is sad that Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks of Chai Pe Charcha, but ignores the plight of tea garden labourers. He said there is talk of development of bullet trains but not of people who give sweat and blood for nation. <br/><br/>The opposition party in West Bengal, CPI-M has said that around seventeen deaths of tea garden labourers have been reported in the state in December alone so far. State government has however claimed that not a single starvation death has taken place in the state's tea gardens.
