Congress' protest against intolerance is a joke: Naidu

BJP has sharply reacted to Congress allegation about growing intolerance in the country describing it as devils quoting scriptures. The party took a dig at the proposed meeting of Congress leaders with President Pranab Mukherjee saying protest against intolerance by the opposition party is a joke. <br/><br/>Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, senior BJP leader and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu said it is the same Congress which had imposed emergency, censored media and put several opposition leaders behind bars.<br/><br/>He alleged that they were also silent during anti-Sikh riots and the party leadership had justified the acts. He accused Congress and other opposition leaders of being intolerant of people's mandate to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. <br/><br/>Mr. Naidu also attacked the authors over returning of awards and said the move is aimed at maligning the image of NDA government. The Minister said that Prime Minister does not want anything that may divert government's attention from development.
