Congress President Sonia Gandhi today congratulated Sania Mirza for receiving the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award. Mrs Gandhi said the tennis star had done the nation proud. In a message, she lauded Sania's commitment and determination and hailed her achievements in the sport.<br/><br/>Sania Mirza was earlier in the day conferred with the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, the country's highest sporting honour, at a glittering ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. She became the second tennis player to receive the sporting honour after Leander Paes.
