The Congress President Sonia Gandhi and BJP President Rajnath Singh held election meetings in Assam today. Addressing an election rally in Lakhimpur, Ms.Gandhi said that in this election each vote will decide which ideology is going to lead the country. She said that Congress has played a role in the development of weaker sections.

Ms. Sonia gandhi said that the Right to Information and MNREGA helped in the development of people. She alleged that BJP and Asom Gana Parishad did nothing for the development of Assam and the country as a whole, when they were in power.

Addressing a rally in Karimganj, BJP President Rajnath Singh alleged that the Congress has not taken any steps to prevent illegal migration.
