The election for Congress President will be held on the 17th of next month. The schedule for the party chief's election was finalised at the Congress Working Committee, CWC, meeting held in New Delhi on Monday. According to the schedule, notification for the polls will be issued on 27th of this month. Last date for filing nominations is September 2, while scrutiny will be held on September 3. AIR correspondent says that Mrs Sonia Gandhi has created a record of being the longest-serving party President and she is expected to be re-elected to the post for the fourth time.
