Congress today said that the party has not yet decided its candidate for the post of Vice President. The party spokeperson Manish Tewari was reacting on the reports that Government is discussing the continuance of Vice-President Hamid Ansari in the coming Vice Presidential polls.

AIR correspondent reports the Vice Presidential polls are scheduled to be held on 7th of next month. The filing of nominations have begun with the issuance of notification on sixth of this month. The last date for filing nominations is 20th.

This will be the 14th Vice Presidential elections which will elect the 13th Vice-President. Dr Sarvapelli Radhakrishnan held two terms in office and Mr Ansari will be the second in history if he gets a renomination by the UPA.
