Congress objects EC's direction to file FIR against TV Channels for telecasting interview of Rahul Gandhi

The Congress party has objected to the Election Commission's directive to file an FIR against TV Channels for telecasting the interview of its leader Rahul Gandhi and issuance of notice to him. A party delegation led by senior leader Ashok Gehlot met the Commission in New Delhi tonight and lodged its protest. <br/><br/><br/>The party termed the action as attack on freedom of press. Talking to reporters after the meeting, Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala questioned why action has not been taken against top BJP leaders including Amit Shah for holding press conference and giving interview after the end of the poll campaign in Gujarat.
