Congress MPs from Telangana continuing their indefinite hunger

In Andhra Pradesh, Congress MPs from Telangana region are continuing their indefinite hunger strike demanding withdrawal of all cases registered against students during agitations last year. The party MPs and Legislators led by Congress Working Committee member K. Keshava Rao launched the stir in front of the Assembly in Hyderabad and later shifted to New MLA quarters in view of the prohibitory orders around. They are continuing their fast notwithstanding the Government’s offer to withdraw 135 more cases imminently. Government has agreed to immediately withdraw 135 more cases in addition to the 565 cases withdrawn earlier providing relief to over three thousand students. However, the unrelenting MPs faulted the government for its inaction in spite of an assurance by Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on withdrawal of cases.Meanwhile, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed the situation with Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy and few other included K. Jana Reddy, D. Sridhar Babu and B. Saraiah and discussed about the cases that could be scrapped immediately.
