Congress MPs from the northeast region today met party Chief Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi and apprised her of the situation arising out of the reports of exodus of people from Bangalore and some other cities. Parliamentarians, including Minister of State for Development of Northeast Region, Paban Singh Ghatowar, conveyed to the UPA Chairperson that panic griped people of northeast living in some cities following rumours about possible attacks on them. They also urged Ms. Gandhi to ensure safety and security of the people from the region.
