Congress MP from Uttar Pradesh Jagdambika Pal has resigned from the party as well as the Lok Sabha. He said in New Delhi that he decided to leave the party as he was not getting due respect and felt sidelined in the party.

Mr Pal alleged that he was not able to reach out to the leadership with his suggestions. In reply to a question, Mr Pal said he has not contacted any other party so far and will decide future course of action in due time. He also dismissed the assumption that he quit the party in view of the poor state of party affairs in Uttar Pradesh.
