Congress ministers belonging to Telengana decide to withdraw resignations

In Andhra Pradesh, the Ministers belonging to Telangana region have announced their decision to withdraw resignations following Centre’s invitation to 8 recognized parties for consultations over separate Telangana state. The Ministers have called on Chief Minister Rosaiah yesterday and conveyed their decision to withdraw resignations as they were satisfied with the decision of the centre to initiate process of dialogue. They also informed the Chief Minister that they would not press the joint letter they had sent to AICC president Sonia Gandhi. State Information and Public Relations Minister Geetha Reddy told reporters in Hyderabad that they took the decision after meeting Pradesh Congress Committee President D Srinivas.<br/> <br/>Meanwhile, Dismissing the charge of flip-flop on the part of Centre on Telangana issue, Home Minister P. Chidambaram has said the meeting of political parties from Andhra Pradesh to be held on Tuesday is to devise a mechanism and roadmap on resolving the issue. He said, talks with other stake holders could be thought of after the consultations with the political parties. Mr. Chidambaram hoped if all political parties show goodwill and accommodation a solution can be found to the issue. He was speaking at a press conference in New Delhi on the monthly report card of his ministry. <br/> <br/>Mr. Chidambaram said the Centre will revisit the issue of ban on prepaid mobile connection in Jammu and Kashmir, if the service providers are able to come out with a fool-proof plan of hundred percent verification. He, however, said the report in a section of the media on the lifting of the ban on the prepaid connection in the state is incorrect. <br/>Mr. Chidambaram also said that visa rules regarding the 60 day cooling of the foreign nationals visiting India had been relaxed slightly for the tourists who use India as a base to go to neighbouring countries. They can avail of three entries within 60 days if there is sufficient information on the itinerary. He said that the overwhelming majority of tourists who visit India for a few weeks will face no difficulty whatsoever on the break of 60 days before applying for another tourist visa. <br/> <br/>He said the ex-servicemen will be reemployed on contractual basis in the categories of constable and sub-inspectors in BSF, CISF and SSB. The CRPF have already permitted to reemploy ex-servicemen. <br/> <br/>On his proposal for the bifurcation of the Home Ministry, Mr. Chidambaram said that he has met Prime Minister on the new architecture for internal security and there will be more discussion on it. <br/>
