Congress today termed UP Chief Minister Mayawati's proposal to divide the state into four parts as a mere election stunt. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Party Spokesman Janardan Dwivedi said that such a decision should not be taken in haste.Mr. Dwivedi said that it is a sensitive issue and the decision in this regard should be taken only after elaborate discussions.He added that Congress Party makes all decisions keeping in mind the national interests and not for electoral gains.The BJP also criticised Mayawati for indulging in vote bank politics.Party Spokesman Prakash Javdekar said that the proposal to divide Uttar Pradesh is meant to mislead the public.
