In Assam, Mr. Tarun Gogoi has been unanimously elected as the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader in the 13th Assembly of the State. The formality for the election of the CLP leader was completed at a meeting organized at the Central Hall of the Assam Legislative Assembly a short while ago in presence of the Union Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee and the AICC General Secretary in-charge of Assam Mr. Digvijay Singh. The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Mr. Bhubaneswar Kalita placed a resolution for unanimous election of Mr. Tarun Gogoi as the next CLP leader and all the 78 newly-elected Congress legislators of the Assembly supported it.Mr. Gogoi is meeting the State Governor Janaki Ballav Patnaik this afternoon to stake his claim to form the next Government in the State. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Darbar Hall of the Raj Bhavan in Guwahati at 3.00 P.M tomorrow. This will be Mr. Tarun Gogoi’s third consecutive term as the Chief Minister of Assam.
