Congress-led opposition parties demand govt to roll back GST imposed on essential commodities

Congress and Left parties held a demonstration in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue at Parliament over the price rise.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Talking to the media, a senior leader of the Congress party, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary said, the Opposition is demanding a discussion over the issues and the government is avoiding the same. He also said, the Railways should give concessions to senior citizens as it is for social good. He also alleged that the government which waived huge amounts under the NPA for the corporate giants is not paying attention to the needs of the common people.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Senior Congress leader Mallikharjun Khadge, Shivsena's  Priyanka Chaturvedi, RSP member N.K. Premchandran among others participated in the demonstration. The agitating members have demanded a rollback of the GST imposed on essential commodities. They raised slogans against price rise, high inflation and the rising cost of cooking gas cylinders.  </span></p>
