Mr. Siddaramaiah will be the new Chief Minister of Karnataka. He was today unanimously elected as leader of the Congress legislative Party which won the recent Assembly Elections in Karnataka. An announcement to this effect was made by the senior congress leader and party MLA R.V. Deshpande in Bangalore this evening after the Congress Legislative Party meeting .Mr. Deshpandy said, that Siddaramaiah was chosen unanimously after Central Congress observer A.K.Antony announced his name in the meeting. AIR correspondent reports that secret ballot was held before the election of the Legislature Party leader.
Siddaramaiah informed that the Congress state President Dr.G Parameshwar and Party incharge in the state Madhusudan Mistri met the Governor stacking claim to form the Government after receiving mandate from the people of the state.
