Congress leader Mr. Sukhpal Singh Khaira has written to the Union Railway Minister for stopping of Akal Takhat Sahib Express and Sachkhand Express trains at Kartarpur Railway Station which falls between Amritsar-Jalandhar rail link. The Akal Takhat Sahib Express No- 2318 goes to Patna Sahib twice a week and Sachkhand Express train no. 2716 goes to Nanded, daily, from Amritsar.<br/>Stating the historic and religious importance of both the places for Sikhs and also of Kartarpur, the Bholath MLA, Khaira has requested the Railway Minister, Ms. Mamta Bannerji on behalf of Punjabis especially Sikhs to create new stoppage at Kartarpur, District Jalandhar, of these trains and also provide reservation facility, as both the places are being visited in large number by them.<br/><br/>
