BJP today criticized the Congress for terming the suspension of Lok Sabha MPs as murder of democracy and alleged that the opposition party lacks democracy in its political DNA. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party leader and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar accused the Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi of being responsible for current logjam in Parliament. He defended Lok Sabha Speaker's decision to suspend 25 MPs saying the chair was forced to do so due to indiscipline by the members.

Mr. Javadekar said it is not the first time that the Speaker has suspended the members. He said, 63 opposition MPs were suspended in 1989 and even in previous UPA regime some members also had to face the same action.
Reiterating government stand that it is ready for discussion on any issue, the Minister charged the Congress with showing irresponsible attitude by disrupting the proceedings in both the Houses.
