Congress, JVM reach seat-sharing agreement for J’khand assembly polls

Congress and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha, JVM, have reached seat-sharing agreement for Jharkhand Assembly polls beginning 25th of this month. Congress will contest 55 of the 81 seats and JVM 19, while friendly contest will happen at seven seats. Earlier, JVM chief Babulal Marandi met Congress President Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi to discuss the alliance issue. <br/>The meeting came close on the heels of Mrs. Gandhi's consultations with AICC in charge of Jharkhand K Keshav Rao and AICC General Secretary Mukul Wasnik, who is Chairman of the AICC's screening committee for Jharkhand elections. Congress had announced the names of 49 candidates while JVM has announced the names of nine candidates so far for the 81-member House.<br/><br/>
