The Congress today said that it does not make any distinction between organisations of majority or minority communities who indulge in communalism and acts of terrorism. Addressing the plenary of the party at Burari in Delhi today , the Congress President Mrs Sonia Gandi said that they are all dangerous and they must be defeated . She called on the party men to honour, protect and promote secular ideals and practice it without any fear. Calling for no tolerance to corruption Mrs Sonia Gandhi said that the party has demonstrated this through its actions. She said that Ministers and chief ministers have been asked to step down even when no charges were established . Mrs. Gandhi asked how many other parties can make such a claim . Attacking the BJP , she said can it it do so with regard to Karnataka where corruption is rampart . Asserting that parliament cannot be held hostage to political expediency , she wondered how the opposition can justify and undermine the norms on which democracy functions . She said that both the party and the government must confront corruption headon . She also stressed the need for taking forward the proposal of state funding of elections decisively.
