In Arunachal Pradesh, the leadership crisis within the ruling Congress seems to be heading towards a conclusion with the Congress High Command calling for a state CLP meeting in Itanagar on Monday. The decision to hold the CLP meet was taken during a meeting between AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi and party observers for Arunachal Pradesh in Delhi on Saturday. Highly placed sources said, the observers – Sushil Kumar Shinde, Dhaniram Sandil and Bijoy Krishna Handique will be proceeding to Itanagar for the crucial meeting. The AICC President has also instructed both Chief Minister Jarbom Gamlim and dissident leader and Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee President Nabam Tuki to attend the CLP meeting in the state capital. The observers had earlier visited Itanagar on October 23rd and interviewed all the 42 Congress MLAs in the state.AIR correspondent reports, there were dramas galore in Itanagar on Saturday as conflicting reports of Chief Minister Jarbom Gamlin and state Congress president resigning from their posts. However, nothing has happened till Sunday. On Saturday, both factions met Sonia Gandhi and Congress observers in Delhi. The Himalayan state has been witnessing political instability since the death of former Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu in a helicopter crash in April this year. It has been almost four months that the wrangling has been going on. There are also popular sentiments among the people that most of the ministers and MLAs were staying out of Arunachal and camping in Delhi for long periods of time.
