In Gujarat, 19 MLAs of opposition Congress in the State Legislative Assembly today gave a notice for a no confidence motion against Speaker Ganpat Vasava following a ruling against Opposition Leader Shaktisinh Gohil. Congress Chief Whipe Iqbal Patel told media persons that 19 MLAs of our party have demanded no confidence motion against the assembly speaker. As per the Assembly rules, no confidence notice against Speaker has to be taken in the House in next 14 days. In 182-member Assembly, ruling BJP has 123 MLAs, Congress 53, NCP 3, JD (U) 1 and 2 are Independent members. Earlier, ruling BJP MLAs created uproar in the House demanding apology from Leader of the Opposition Shakti sinh Gohil over the remarks made by him yesterday. Gohil had alleged that Gujarat government was 'working in collusion' with Adani Group during the question hour. However, the Speaker overruled Mr.Gohil's remarks after verification of records saying that passing personal remarks was not permissible in the House as per rules and asked the opposition leader to tender an apology. Gohil refused to tender an apology claiming that he never made any personal remarks against anybody in the House and requested a three-member committee to verify the records and take a decision. AIR Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that issue has also disrupted the proceedings of the house since last two days due to uproar by the ruling party members.
