In Puducherry, Congress extended its support to the 12 hour shut down tomorrow called by Tamil organisations protesting ban on Jallikattu. <br/><br/>DMK, their alliance partner had already threw their weight behind the protestors. Pro-jallikattu protestors are demanding repeal of the ban on the traditional sport. <br/><br/>They have turned their ire against the People for the Ethical Treatment to Animals and demand that the organisation be banned. Various student organisations too have joined the protestors in the Union Territory. <br/><br/>Social media forums are live with debate on Jallikkatu and its ban. An action committee has been formed in Puducherry to sustain the agitation to lift the ban on the sport.
