The DMK has decided not to pull out of the UPA Government over the 2G spectrum issue. DMK Chief M Karunanidhi said he had nothing against the Congress and was not disappointed with the party not helping it in the case. He was talking to reporters in Chennai on Friday after emerging out of a crucial meeting of DMK's high-powered Committee. Karunanidhi, however, said the DMK's General Council would meet next month to decide on its ties with other parties as it was the only authorised body to take such important decisions. Distancing himself from the controversy involving Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran, Karunanidhi said Maran would answer all questions himself. The meeting also decided to fight legally the charge against Kalaignar TV, in which Kanimozhi and her stepmother Dayalu Ammal are stakeholders. Reacting to the development, the Congress expressed confidence that its alliance with the DMK would continue in the same spirit. Party spokesperson Jayanthi Natarjan said the 2G issue would have no impact on the alliance.
