Congress distances itself from Pitroda's remarks on 1984 anti-Sikh riots

Congress has distanced itself from party leader Sam Pitroda's reported remarks on 1984 anti- Sikh riots saying it is not the opinion of the party.
''
'' It said, the party and its leadership have strived to ensure justice for the anti-Sikh riots victims and continue to support the quest for justice and stern punishment for those found guilty in it as also the subsequent acts of violence including the 2002 Gujarat riots.
''
'' In a statement, Congress has advised all party leaders to be careful and sensitive.
