Congress today dismissed exit poll projections of a dismal performance by the party. Congress leader Digvijay Singh tweeted this morning that in a country of 800 million voters, a sample survey of a few lakh people cannot predict Lok Sabha election results.
Party General Secretary Shakeel Ahmed also dismissed exit and opinion polls. He said that these were proved wrong in the 2004 and 2009 elections and the party will wait for the actual results on May 16.
Meanwhile, BJP today said the results of exit polls are not correct and the party expects to surpass the 300 mark.
Addressing mediapersons in New Delhi, party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said people voted enthusiastically for the BJP-led NDA this time as they want a stable government at the Centre.
