Political parties have criticised Union Minister V K Singh for his alleged remarks that the government cannot be held responsible if somebody stones a dog. Mr Singh kicked up a huge political row when he tried to shield the state government from blame in the Faridabad Dalit burning incident by the statement.<br/><br/>Terming Mr. Singh's remarks as shocking and condemnable, Congress demanded his resignation from the government. Talking to reporters, party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said, the statement shows that the present government is anti-Dalit and anti- poor. He said, there should be a criminal case against V K Singh.<br/><br/>Aam Aadmi Party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that V K Singh's statement is shameful and prosecutable under Scheduled Castes Prevention of Atrocities Act. He said, a case should be registered against Mr Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi should remove him from his Cabinet.<br/><br/>Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar tweeted that he is aghast at the senseless comment made by the Union Minister on tragic Dalit killings in Haryana.<br/><br/>On the other hand, BJP spokesperson Sambit Parta said, V K Singh has already clarified and one should not blow the whole thing out of proportion.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, defending his remarks, Union Minister V K Singh said, his statement was not intended to draw an analogy. He said, he has served the nation irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
