Congress has demanded that Narendra Modi should be prosecuted for what it called fake encounter of Tulsiram Prajapati, a witness in Sohrabuddin Sheikh case. Addressing media in New Delhi today, party leader Kapil Sibal said circumstantial evidence of Prajapati's killing proves that Modi's Office was aware of it. He claimed that Officer on Special Duty in Chief Minister's Office Parag Shah was in touch with Superintendent of Police, anti-terrorist squad, Rajkumar Pandian while conspiracy to kill Prajapati was plotted.
Sibal said Modi has failed to act against his aide Amit Shah, who was Minister of State for Home, when Prajapati, Sohrabuddin and his wife Kausar Bi were killed in fake encounters between 2005 to 2006. He said Shah himself is an accused in the encounters. In view of this, Sibal asked how could Modi keep criminals away from Parliament. During an election rally at Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh today, Modi said that his first job after forming government will be to set up a committee to probe pending criminal cases against MPs cutting across party lines.
