Congress has demanded a judicial probe into the clashes between two groups of people in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh alleging conspiracy behind them. Talking to AIR, party leader Rashid Alvi said the State government has failed to fulfill its reponsibilities in maintaining law and order.

He demanded that the government arrest the culprits at the earliest to prevent more tension in the area. Alvi blamed BJP and VHP for fanning communal passions and appealed to the Prime Minister to rein in his party leaders from creating fresh troubles in the district.
