In Uttar Pradesh, the Congress has demanded a judicial probe into the Bhatta Parsaul violence by a sitting High Court Judge. Party has also demanded immediate release of the arrested farmers from the village. AIR correspondent reports that adopting economic and political resolutions unanimously at the 83rd state convention at Varanasi, the party has given ultimatum to the Mayawati government in this regard. State Congress has threatened to launch an extensive state-wide agitation if their demand of judicial probe was not met in a fortnight. The resolution has also demanded that agriculture land should be acquired only after getting the consent of farmers concerned. Meanwhile, state government has categorically denied the charges about incidents of mass murder and rape at Bhatta Parsaul village. Talking to media persons at Lucknow, Cabinet Secretary of the state, Shshank Shekhar Singh has said that preliminary forensic report has confirmed that there was no trace of human flesh and bones in the ashes. He also denied any incident of rape at Bhatta Parsaul as alleged by the Congress.
