Congress demands ban on Ram Sena, CPI asks to take stern action

The Congress has demanded a ban on Ram Sena in Karnataka, following revelations that its activists are involved in taking money to fan communal trouble. <br/><br/>The alleged activities of Ram Sena were exposed by a TV channel in a sting operation.<br/><br/>Describing it as a very serious allegation, party spokesman Shakeel Ahmed wanted stern action against those involved as well as the parties that are morally supporting Ram Sena.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, The CPI has asked the Centre to take stern action against Hindu extremist outfits like Sri Ram Sena for thier alleged involvment in terror acts.<br/><br/>CPI National Secretary D.Raja said in New Delhi that there is enough evidence against them to take action. He said the government has been more focussed on tackling Leftwing extremism but rightwing extremism is proving to be more dangerous to national unity and integrity of the country.<br/><br/>Raja's statement came after the CPI(M) critised the Centre for lack of firmness in dealing with Hindutva extremists and demanded a coordinated probe into the attacks in Malegaon, Hyderabad and Ajmer allegedly carried out by such outfits.
