Congress demands action against V.K. Singh for his controversial tweets

Congress today demanded that the Prime Minister should take action against the Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh for allegedly politicizing the neutral and secular institution like Army by making highly irresponsible and contradictory statements.

Briefing media, the party spokesman Randeep Singh Surjewala said Defence Minister has clarified about the next Army Chief but he has forgotten that his colleague Mr Singh has already put a question mark on the credibility on his ministry.

Mr. Singh justified his decision on Army Chief designate Dalbir Suhag questioning should he not be blamed if a unit headed by him kills innocents and he tries to protect them. Mr. Singh, who is now Union Minister had placed Suhag under a disciplinary ban for his alleged failure of command and control in an operation carried out by an intelligence unit in 2012 working directly under him.

On the question of inquiry against some congress leaders in Rajasthan, he said Chief Minister of the State is taking revenge and it is political vendetta. Mr Surjewala asked her for ordering an inquiry by a retired Supreme Court or High Court Judge.
