The Congress today criticized the surrogacy bill and made a strong plea for reconsideration of the proposed legislation. <br/><br/>Party spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi told reporters in New Delhi that the bill is anti- liberal, not scientific and not in line with the present social milieu. He faulted the bill for excluding surrogacy by live-in couples, those with adopted children, those with a single child, homosexuals, NRIs and foreigners. <br/><br/>Mr Singhvi wondered if all the categories are banned, then why there will be a surrogacy at all.
