Congress, CPI (M) slams BJP on continuance of Karnataka CM

The BJP has come in for sharp attack on its silence on the continuance of Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa from the Left and the Congress party. The Congress spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan told reporters outside Parliament on Tuesday that the double standards of the BJP on the issue of corruption stand exposed as the tainted Karnataka Chief Minister continues and the leadership is silent on the issue. Expressing similar views the CPI (M) leader Brinda Karat said it is the double standards of the BJP as it has not immediately sought the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister and it does raise a very fundamental question.Mr Yeddyurappa who arrived in New Delhi on Monday evening said that he has not been asked to resign by the BJP high command. Mr. Yeddyruppa is meeting party President Mr. Nitin Gatkari later on Tuesday evening. The Opposition in Karnataka has been demanding the resignation of the Yeddyurappa for the land scam in which he allotted land to his family members.
