Congress today questioned new Army Chief Lt Gen Bipin Rawat's appointment, terming it as unprecendented. <br/><br/>Talking to media in New Delhi, party spokesperson Manish Tewari said the party does not doubt the new Army chief's abilities. He sought to know why senior people were superseded and the fourth in line has been named as new Army chief.<br/><br/>CPI has also criticised the appointment of Lt Gen Bipin Rawat as the new Army Chief by superseding two officers. Party leader D Raja alleged, every appointment by the government has become controversial be it in judiciary, CBI or Army.<br/><br/> He described the controversy as unfortunate and said it is not in the interest of democracy and the country.
