The Congress core committee on Friday discussed the situation in Jammu and Kashmir and the demand by the state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for amending or partial withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Power Act, AFSPA. The Jammu and Kashmir PCC president Saifuddin Soz , the AICC in charge of Jammu and Kashmir, Prithviraj Chavan and the Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad also attended the meeting.The Army Chief had met the Prime Minister before the core group meeting. Top Sources said that the Cabinet Committee on Security could discuss the issue on Saturday.
