Congress has constituted a four member committee under the chairmanship of senior party leader A K Antony to hear the concerns arising over the decision to form a new state of Telengana. The other members of the committee are Congress leaders Verrappa Moily, Digvijaya singh and Ahmed Patel. Party President Sonia Gandhi today approved the constitution of the committee.
The move came amid protests by some party leaders against formation of separate statehood of Telangana. It is learnt that the ministers had raised the demand that Hyderabad to be retained as permanent common capital of two Telugu speaking states on the line of Chandigarh.
