Congress complains to EC against Modi's road-show in Varanasi

The Congress has complained to the Election Commission against Narendra Modi's road-show in Varanasi. The party said that airing of visuals of the show on TV in 117 Lok Sabha constituencies where polling is underway, is violation of Model Code of Conduct.

Party spokesperson Anand Sharma told reporters in New Delhi today that the commission should have taken pre-emptive action against live coverage of the show in those constituencies. He also demanded registration of FIRs against Modi and his partymen.

On Modi's allegation that women are not safe in Congress ruled states, Sharma citing official data said, the highest number of rape cases have been reported in BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh and the track record is also not good in Gujarat.
