Congress today charged the NDA Government with indulging in dropping the name of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi from the Sadbhavana Diwas observed on 20th August every year. Taking a serious note over the issue, Leader of the opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad said the Government owes an explanation to the nation over removal of Rajiv Gandhi's name from Sadbhavana Diwas. Mr Azad said the Gandhi family had made sacrifices for the unity and integrity of the country and they can't be treated at par with those who never served in the Government. <br/><br/>Alleging that the names of several central schemes and programmes have been changed, he demanded the government to re-change all names of such schemes. Senior party leader Anand Sharma said it was an insult to a great leader who sacrificed his life for the country. He further said, crores of rupees are being spent on advertisements on the names of those who never served people from the Government earlier. Earlier, the matter was raised by Chhaya Varma of Congress.
