Congress has charged BJP leader Narendra Modi with deliberately misinterpreting facts over the remarks of Priyanka Gandhi. Party leader Kapil Sibal told reporters in New Delhi today that Priyanka Gandhi had only said that Modi had insulted her father on Amethi's soil and accused him of practicing 'low level politics’, but Modi deliberately misinterpreted the facts saying Priyanka Gandhi insulted him with the low level politics remarks as he belonged to a backward caste.

Sibal said Modi knows that he is misinterpreting and he does it purposefully, that is Narendra Modi, he said. Sibal said Modi will give it a spin that has nothing to do with fact.

Asserting that Gandhi never made any such insinuation, Sibal said that Priyanka was only referring to BJP resorting to low-level politics.

Former Punjab Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Amarinder Singh also attacked BJP leader Arun Jaitley for accusing Priyanka Gandhi of being arrogant. He said Jaitley should better introspect about his own attitude of sheer arrogance.
